Worse than the connector being disconnected the fan blades are crushed because the dork who shipped it stood on the box and crushed the fan blades by standing on the case. So its not responding cuz it will never turn again and needs to be replaced.

Set the plan back to "Performance" and no more errors. Not sure why this works, but it does for me. Hopefully it will for others. I upgraded to H60i Corsair from stock air cooling because of the 90-100C temps I've been getting (AW support called that normal). 50-55C now with h60i but the fan is running constantly, and I don't know if I should worry about it.
